Most ice-cream trucks around here play one of two tunes: "Turkey in the Straw," or "The Entertainer." (Why those two?) But recently, I've been hearing a truck that plays the theme from "Popeye the Sailor Man" (I don't know what that tune's actually called), and so I'm wondering: what, does that truck sell spinach-flavored ice cream?
(Incidentally, the phrase "ice-cream truck" never fails to bring this song to mind for me:
The Leaving Trains "Ice Cream Truck")

I can't help you with spinach ice cream, but I can report in that around central Ohio, we also have mostly "Turkey in the Straw" and "The Entertainer". So those choices are either typical of ice cream trucks generally, or, well, typical of ice cream trucks in Milwaukee and Columbus.
What's more, I remember getting a DIME to spend at the ice cream truck. I could get a popsicle or a fudgesicle. I was so envious of my next-door neighbor, who got a QUARTER and could choose a can of soda pop (although in retrospect, why would you waste an ice cream truck stop on soda pop?). Have you seen the prices of quiescently frozen treats lately?
"quiescently"? With the $10-word surcharge, I suppose they're pretty pricey...
"Quiescently"? It seems I've known that term since I was a kid; haven't you? We didn't have $10-words when I was a kid.
I'm pretty sure it appeared on the packaging of the mighty Popsicle itself, and this inquirer backs me up. Oh, and aha, here's the proof!

You've discovered yet another gap in my knowledge - obviously, I wasn't a huge Popsicle fan as a kid, because I've never heard the phrase "quiescently frozen" before in my life. But I'll have to accept the evidence provided in your links. (I knew you weren't anonymous anyway!)
I love that joke. Have you seen the monkey video of it?
" I love that joke. Have you seen the monkey video of it?"
Do I want to?
(dig that icon - looka me, a trendsettah!)
Oh, I think you do. I'll leave it in the hands of fate.

I love this song, and my kids do too.
